The Mega2560 PRO is a compact powerhouse built on the robust Atmel ATmega2560 microcontroller and featuring the reliable USB-UART interface chip CH340G. This embedded version of the Mega2560 is meticulously designed with a compact size of 38x55mm, making it an excellent choice for your final project when soldering onto a proto-board.
This board offers functionality akin to the Arduino Mega2560, ensuring stability and utilizing the original ATmega2560 chip operating at 16 MHz. The CH340G chip serves as the UART-USB converter, providing a stable data exchange experience at a frequency of 12MHz (driver installation required for computer compatibility).
The Mega2560 PRO connects effortlessly to your computer via a micro-USB or Type-C cable, a standard interface used in most Android smartphones. Powering the board is a breeze – either through the USB connector or via power pin headers. The onboard voltage regulator handles incoming voltages ranging from 6V to 9V. The output current for 3.3V or 5V is approximately 800mA (Note: Higher input voltage results in lower outgoing current). This ensures a reliable power supply for your initial projects.

I great little board, that gives extra memory for more serious stuff. Care needs to be taken when soldering the double row of board pin headers, as they are very close to each other. The CH drivers are a bit finickity and do not always pick up first time the USB and COM ports in the Device Manager. Otherwise a great product. Thank you Techtoast.
